About Me

Please let me introduce myself.  I am Dean Pratt, servant leader of the church and the world.  I have been happily married for 39 years to my wife, Elaine Pratt and have two sons.  I regard myself as a change agent for Christ.  I joined First United Methodist Church Westfield in May of 1979, serving as Youth Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Retreat Leader, and member of the Christian Education Committee, Stewardship Campaign, Choir and Staff Parish Relations Committee.  I then spent years leading various committees such as Evangelism, Christian Education, Vacation Bible School, Stewardship Campaign, Facilities, and the Adult Faith Development team.  I also taught Adult Sunday School, led the Men’s Group, participated in leading the Strategic Planning Team and now am co-leader of the Nurture Team.  My spiritual gifts include mercy, faith, evangelism, exhortation, preaching, counseling, developing faith-based curriculum, and teaching.  My church administration gifts include strategic planning, managing teams, and managing projects.  I also have been trained and acted as a crisis counselor for the local helpline and a grief counselor for Imagine.  My goals are to refine my grief group facilitation skills at Imagine and my community organizing skills by completing the Justice Gardens.  I plan to leverage my decades of experience as a management consultant to be a church coach, helping churches be effective witnesses for Christ.
